Jim Barnes son of Mr and Mrs Keith Barnes of Brighton is named one of the outstanding 4-H boys in Washington County. He began 4-H at age ten with a market litter and now owns a purebred black Poland China hog and has expanded his herd. He also works with beef and dairy projects and competes in football and basketball for Brighton High School. Washington County 4-H clubs are in their annual membership drive open to ages ten to twenty one, with aims of teaching agriculture methods and leadership through health music literature and other activities.

Burlington Safety Record Marred by Fatal Pedestrian Crash
Burlington on October 26 reported a fatal accident ending its 80 day safety run when Mrs. Mary C. Waldin, about 75, was struck and killed crossing a residential street.
