Roy C. Woods of Wellston Missouri received notice an insurance policy worth 5000 dollars was cancelled. Woods cites two recent feud shootings in Wellston as the cause. His will earmarks 40000 dollar life payout with 1000 to Joseph Folk and 500 each to five lawyers to prosecute the slayers and 2500 to the arresting officer.
Mrs Evelyn Short the chorus girl shot by husband William H Short is in serious condition but has a fighting chance to recover. Police report indicate the assailant later killed himself in Washington on October 26.
Otto Mueller, using the alias Fred Gebhardt, confessed to shooting Annie Luther near Bay Shore on April 9, 1908. He said the woman screamed and pulled him back after he revealed his wife and two children, then fled to Islip station and discarded the revolver from the car. The skeletal remains were found near Islip.
Washington reports the Brownsville court of inquiry will tour Brownsville Texas in late November to hear new material facts about the August 13 1906 riot. Discharged Twenty fifth infantry NCOs and men may prove they were not involved and seek reenlistment under the act creating the tribunal. A similar Washington hearing will follow.

Joseph Kulpa a Pole was instantly killed when he touched a broken electric wire in Greenwich Conn. His fellow countryman who tried to lift him received a shock of 2000 volts and fled in agony. He has not been seen since.
President Taft commuted Thomas W. Harvey's seven year sentence for complicity in wrecking the Enterprise National Bank of Pittsburgh to three years. Harvey, now imprisoned, received clemency on October 26.
