Re entered Reform School Life Outside Proves Too Hard
Russell Smith, paroled from the men’s reformatory in Anamosa last August, has returned to the reform school. Committed in 1916 from Carroll County on a 10 year term for breaking and entering, he escaped and served 19 years of a 40 year sentence in another state reformatory. He was brought back to complete his original sentence plus five years for the escape.

One Legged Farmer Sentenced in Federal Case
Wacheldorf a one legged Castana farmer pled guilty in federal court to selling property mortgaged to the government and was sentenced by Judge George C. Scott to one year in prison.
