Mrs Jane Gibson, widow and farm owner on Hamilton road, identified as the woman who witnessed the Hall murder scene. She said she watched from her mule as two men and two women fired on Rev Edward Hall and Mrs Elinor Mills, then fled in fear after the shooting.
Dr M L Dagey of Chicago told Lee county teachers that movies belong in schools as much as science labs and urged cooperation with film educators. Illinois public instruction official Blair called schooling a narrow path but emphasized education beyond the classroom and warned of the risk of a teacher lacking a genuine man or woman as the key to a student’s future. C P Molgrove of Cedar Falls argued illiteracy remains a concern and warned against marrying illiteracy over moral compromise.
Wiliam J. Bartunek and Otto P. Kucera of Tobias Nebraska surrendered at the U S official office in Council Bluffs on a charge of robbing the U S mails. They posted $250 bonds paid by their fathers. They are the thirty first and thirty second of thirty four warrants issued. The thirty third man is expected to surrender today. The last man’s whereabouts are unknown possibly a fugitive.
