Two Couples Sentenced for Stealing in Oskaloosa
OSKALOOSA Lee Ninemire and Kenneth Nillhouse both of Ottumwa were sentenced to one year each in the county jail after pleading guilty to larceny. Their wives Detoris Ninemire and Billie Millhouse were paroled from a one year Rockwell City reformatory sentence. The couples were accused of stealing two fur coats and other merchandise from a local store.

Car Crash Takes Life of Frank Smith Near Ports mouth
The body of Frank Shorty Smith, 55, of two miles northeast of Portsmouth, was found in his car in a creek a mile north of Portsmouth Monday morning by Milwaukee railroad section men. Authorities believe he lost control, drove off a cement culvert, plunged about 20 feet into water. He leaves a wife, two sons, and a daughter.
