Ex Police Inspector John R. Boni field died last night. He led the police at the Haymarket riot and was in charge of them at the World's Fair. The report places his death in Chicago on October 19.
Chicago witnesses a massive Jubilee parade with 12 000 to 15 000 in line, featuring Grand Army veterans, the County Democracy, and dignitaries led by General Miles. President McKinley and Mayor Harrison receive a formal welcome as crowds cheer from balconies and streets.
Five thousand people packed the Auditorium for the formal welcome of the president and guests despite abominable weather. McKinley entered to a standing cheer as boxes held General Miles General Shafter and diplomats.
