Brown is described as popular, magnetic, and a genial speaker who engages audiences even when opinions differ. Also noted are travel plans for Wm Dodds and wife visiting Oskaloosa and Montezuma relatives.

The Luetgert jury has not reached a verdict after days of deliberation in the sell out trial. Prosecutors argued the evidence showed guilt while defense contended reasonable doubt remained and the jurors resumed debate yesterday.
Chicago report at 3 30 p m says the Luetgert murder jury remains out after voting began last evening. Initial ballot showed 7 for conviction 4 for acquittal and one no voting as crowds gather outside the jury room awaiting word on the verdict.
