A city wide Halloween party for Washington youths is planned with a 6 pm start at the YMCA on October 30. Sponsoring groups include Rotary club Kiwanis club YWCA Y's Men YMCA Chamber of Commerce and Junior Chamber of Commerce. Prizes total twenty five with top $5, and a parade returns to the YMCA for a full evening of movie shorts refreshments and a chamber of horrors tour through the gym.

Amelia Haefner Wellemeyer died at 86 after two years of illness and a 10 day period of serious ill health. She was born May 24 1864 in Giard Iowa, married Edward M. Wellemeyer in 1889, and resided in Washington at intervals for 19 years. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 4 pm at Jones funeral home. interment Thursday at Garner. Survivors include daughter Mrs Foster Bickel of Washington Elmer H Wellemeyer of Skillman NJ and four grandchildren.
