Washington County Rural-Urban Night tickets go on sale countywide this week led by Bob Logan. The event on November 15 features a smorgasbord with ham beef and turkey and a nationally known humorist Dr Henry Rogers plus local entertainment. Tickets cost $2 and are available from committee members banks Farm Bureau Farm Service Office Evening Journal and Chamber of Commerce offices.

Schirra Visits White House After Six Orbit Flight

Wellman Man Dies in Truck Tractor Collision
Larry Linn Martin 25 of Wellman was killed late Monday when his truck rear ended a grain combine on a county road west of Bush Corner. Marion Stransky 54 escaped with minor injuries as the tractor towing the combine also left the road into a ditch. Police expect charges against Stransky for driving without rear lights. Funeral services for Martin will be held Wednesday at 3 30 p.m. in the Wellman Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in Wellman Cemetery. Martin, born November 26 1937 in Washington County, was a West Chester High School graduate and married to Joyce Statler. He is survived by his wife two daughters Denise and Debora his parents and several siblings.

Capt Harry Hines United States Air Force son of Mr and Mrs Joe Hines Washington honored by the Night Fighters Association in Las Vegas for best in the business. He heads the Portland Air Base fighter pilot school and helped tailor the Waco radar observer program for the National Air Guard. The suit by three residents against the Lewis Consolidated School district in Cass county was dismissed.
