Will Organize Cub Scouts Here Tonight

Begin Collecting Tin Cans and Ashes
Frank Black who collects garbage for Washington has launched the annual fall clean up of tin cans and ashes from local homes. Garbage will be collected during this special campaign with households asked to place trash where it can be seen by the collector or next to the garbage can. The plan covers the whole town in one continuous effort and residents are urged to have tin cans ashes and other refuse ready now for pickup.

White Is Awarded Masonic Certificate

Gamblers Blamed for High Food Prices, Truman Says
President Truman blamed market gamblers for rising food costs and announced a Justice Department probe into speculation on rain and fiber exchanges.
