Harry C. Jirsa, 48, of Richmond, was injured in a corn picker accident on the Rudy Whitmire farm two miles north of Richmond about 6 15 p m Thursday. His left little and ring fingers were amputated after his glove got caught in a roller and dragged his hand into gears at Mercy hospital in Iowa City. He freed himself when Whitmire helped remove machinery after Jirsa cried out for about 20 minutes.
