4-H members plan county convention
Ten Washington County 4H members will be elected to the County 4-H Council at the annual Convention Saturday October 16 at 7 30 p m at the new Community Theater Building on the Washington County Fairgrounds. Candidates will speak two minutes and answer a question while two adults will be made Honorary 4-H members. Attendance prizes go to the top club in attendance. Seating is in the McCleery Auditorium for parents and friends.

Allen L. Chance of Washington received 20 days in the county jail after pleading guilty to simple assault in Washington County District Court. The 18 year old avoided a trial on a felony assault charge tied to a May 9 beating of Steven Duwa near the Duwa home. the plea came with the victim’s consent and a key witness unavailable due to a June crash. District Judge Phillip Collett ordered weekend confinement starting Oct 16.
