The Washington public library opened a micro film reader and 126 rolls of film from the Washington Gazette Democrat and Journal, covering 1868 to 1962 with some gaps. The system saves space, provides durable permanent copies, and is available to adults and students with staff assistance.

Three Cars Damaged In Noon Intersection Crash
Three automobiles were damaged in a three car accident shortly before noon at the corner of South Iowa Avenue and West Madison Street. No injuries were reported. Harold Stevens, a local high school staff member, drove the driver training car. Richard Lonsdale of Daytona Beach pulled from a stop sign into the training car’s path, pushing Lonsdale’s 1958 vehicle into a third car driven by Mrs. Larry Neff of Wayland. Lonsdale faced failure to yield charges. The Neff and Florida man's cars had minor damage while the driver training car required towing to the garage.
