Ex convict arrested in slaying of Moline girl

Washington Junior High School students were named to top offices in the Southeast district of the Iowa Association of Student Councils junior high division. Carma Chorpening won president and Connie Messer earned vice president after a floor nomination. Suzanne Cernett and Jim Peace were named secretary and treasurer respectively. The meeting drew 258 students from 17 schools with 21 advisors. Senator Thomas Daley spoke. The next district gathering is planned for April 5, 1963 at Washington.
