May Allow Drafting Of Married Men Soon
Washington reports that President Truman may lift the ban on drafting married men for the armed services. Maj. Gen. The defense department asked for a draft of 922 doctors, 500 dentists and 100 veterinarians for the army for November through January. It plans to place 300 doctors for the army by November 15 and 300 doctors, 300 dentists and 50 veterinarians by January 15. Mexican youth clings to plane during 53 minute flight
A 19 year old Mexican farm boy, Cliterio Reyes Guerrero, grabbed the tail and rode an airliner from Torreon to Mexico City, hanging on as the craft went aloft. The pilot turned back after authorities called the flight excessively tail heavy. Guerrero said he always wanted to ride an airplane.

Budget cuts slash 1951 agency funding to boost defense
