Death of Sylvester Ragan in Washington Iowa City hospital
Sylvester Ragan aged 70 died about two o'clock this afternoon at University hospital in Iowa City after an operation two weeks ago. He had been in failing health for seven years and underwent two operations this year. Funeral plans were incomplete. services likely Thursday. Survivors include sons Charles in Washington post office and Harry of San Francisco. Bert preceded him in death. Born August 6 1868 Ragantown Pa, resident of Washington since 1867 except for a few months in Wyoming. He was city marshal, worked at a creamer y, operated the Milwaukee Rock Island signal tower, member of the Methodist church, former Washington fireman, and longtime National Guard member. His death is widely mourned.

Christian Revival Draws Largest Monday Audience
