Funeral Wednesday for Peter Fritchen
Peter Fritchen a longtime resident died October 5 in Excel sior Springs Missouri after a period of poor health. Funeral services are set for Wednesday October 8 at 9 30 am at St Peter and St Pauls Catholic church south of Keota with burial in Clear Creek cemetery. The body was moved to Marsh funeral home Monday evening. He was born January 1876 in Dutch Creek township, son of John and Ellen Fritchen. Survived by brother Jake and sister Elizabeth living on the old home place in Dutch Creek township.

Davenport Teens Die In Convertible Crash
Evelyn Jansen 18 and Patricia Wilkinson 16, both of Davenport, were injured when a car driven by Wilkinson left the road and overturned into a ditch. Jansen died at the scene. Wilkinson was hospitalized with serious injuries after being thrown from the vehicle.

Woman Found Dead in Mason City Quarry
Mrs. Farl Stanton, 52, of Mason City was found drowned in a local quarry Monday. Authorities said the death appeared to be self inflicted. Coroner Dr. R. E. Smiley doubted an inquest. Stanton reported her missing by her daughter after returning from taking her father to work. body recovered from about 40 feet of water with jacket, false teeth and glasses found on the quarry bank.
