Philip J. Gerdes 75 of Crawfordsville died Monday afternoon at Mt Pleasant Memorial Hospital after two weeks of illness. A retired farmer, he lived in Crawfordsville 15 years and will be buried in Elm Grove Cemetery after funeral Wednesday at 2 pm at Jones Funeral Home. He leaves three children Raymond Harold and Irene Wood, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and siblings George Gridley Tommers Tena Gerdes and others. He was a longtime member of the United Presbyterian Church and served on the Ainsworth school board and AAA committee.
