Goldwater rails in Indiana over Johnson nuclear policy
UPI report says Senator Barry Goldwater renewed his charges of soft on communism as he spoke in Indianapolis during a whistle stop through Indiana. He accused President Johnson of downgrading U S nuclear strength while Red China threatened with a nuclear bomb. Goldwater urged keeping strength and warned against political games.

He owned Hunsaker Shoe Store and Repair Shop from 1925 until retirement eight years ago. Funeral at 9 a.m. Saturday at St James Catholic Church. Jones Funeral Home in charge. Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery. Prayers 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born September 15 1891 in Aurora Missouri son of John and Polly Millis Hunsaker. Survived by wife Elizabeth Sylvia Doupnik a daughter Marguerite Moody of Marshalltown three sons Allen Jr Iowa City Keith and Kenneth Des Moines four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Johnson Humphrey stay on Iowa ballot despite late filing
Polk County District Judge Wade Clarke dismissed a mandamus petition seeking removal of Lyndon B. Johnson and Hubert H. Humphrey from the Iowa general election ballot. Clarke ruled the Democratic nominees remain lawfully certified and that late certification can be treated as a vacancy filling. The action was brought by Conservative Party candidates Gordon Risher and Blanche Robbins.
