DES MOINES Oct 1 UP Iowans pay more for cars and trucks as the two per cent use tax on first time licenses rose in August to 246 484 from 178 203 a year earlier. The rise reflects higher purchase prices rather than sole increases in selling activity. For the first eight months the state collected 90 757 000 in new auto purchases. Polk county led August collections at 24 7752 with Scott county second at 10 607.

30 Days for Intoxication
