John K. Gantz, 16, a Fairfield area high school student, died after firing a rifle through his forehead early Sunday. He lived with his mother and uncle Glen Gantz on a nearby farm. His father Orville Gantz died in 1939. Mrs. Gantz said he returned home after midnight Saturday, was found on the side porch with the gun, and left no note explaining his act.
