Plan Van Dyke Rites At Rubio on Thursday
Lester Van Dyke 79 died Monday at his home near Rubio. Funeral services will be held at 2 p m Thursday at the Rubio Friends Church with Rev. D B Weintz in charge. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery at Richland. He was born March 3 1876 in Rubio and married Mattie Ellen Smith in 1901 who died May 3 1954. He farmed, belonged to the Woodman Lodge, lived his life in Rubio. Survivors are two daughters Mrs Marion Heath Walker and Mrs Floyd Eaton Ottumwa four grandchildren three great grandchildren one sister Mrs O G Gowey Richland and one brother W R Van Dyke Topeka Kansas. He was preceded in death by two infant children.
