Whisky Case Probed by Justice Rogers in Narrow Gauge Inquiry
Justice Rogers hears a whisky case as County Attorney Brookhart and Robert Mc Connaughey question Will Clancy about an alleged company scheme. Clancy acted as local agent, shipping jugs of whisky to the company and selling orders to others for fifty cents each, with little knowledge of other buyers.

Postmaster Applies Strict Key Redemption Order
Postmaster Hood issues an order from department headquarters to call in all outstanding box keys for redemption within 30 days from next Monday. Deposits must not be forfeited under postal laws. Key-holders must present a receipt or affidavit to prove claims. Redeemed keys will be re issued with 20 cents paid, a 30 cent reduction. Government to maintain complete records of keys issued, numbers and recipients. Redemption and re issue begin at this office on December 1, at Tuesday.

Woman elected county attorney in Nebraska history
B Mae Davisson of Long Pine Nebraska becomes the first woman elected to the county attorney post in the state and perhaps the nation. The 23 year old fusion ticket winner defeated a leading Brown county attorney amid a 300 vote Republican majority. Davisson was born in Washington Iowa and studied law at Nebraska University Lincoln graduating in 1896.

Washington residents dined at the firemen’s tables in the north side rooms raising 51.10 on the first night and 20.00 the second, total near 100. Gifts will go to the W R C ladies for distribution to the city’s poor and needy. The event drew liberal support and praise for the firemen.
