Thanksgiving at governor's mansion for senior citizens

Des Moines residents join Gov. and Mrs. Ray for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at the governor's mansion. Fifteen low income seniors, average age 75, selected with agency help, will share a family sized meal and hear from the First Lady as part of a statewide observance while other centers begin early festivities through the weekend.

Snow slows travel across Iowa amid winter storms

A weekend winter storm brought up to six inches of snow, causing slippery roads and multiple crashes across Iowa. Five traffic deaths occurred in accidents on slick highways near Ottumwa and Mount Pleasant, while two Iowa Wesleyan students died near Mount Pleasant and a man in Oskaloosa died after shoveling snow. Outstanding Farmer Keith Hora Wins Kiwanis Honor
