In Lubbock County three men Rudy Garcia Epifanio Bela and Juan Ysasaga were arrested after a bank robbery at Idalou First State Bank failed. A quick trio of hostages a listening teller and a one word police command helped end the hold up without casualties.

UPI reports American jets struck within 22 miles of Hanoi destroying 17 buildings at the Dong Em missile base and damaging three more as part of a second such assault. The raid followed a dawn Communist assault 40 miles northwest of Saigon at the Michelin Plantation where Vietnamese troops and U.S. advisers faced attacks with unknown casualties. Four to six MIGs attacked unarmed American recon planes over North Vietnam, but the U.S. fliers escaped unharmed.

A DC3 operated by Edde Airlines crashed about 20 miles south of Salt Lake City during a snowstorm. The Utah Highway Patrol says 13 people were aboard with no survivors sighted by a passing motorist. Cape Kennedy UPI reports a Gemini 7 dry run to clear for a Saturday launch. At 7:30 a.m. EST the rehearsal began, with backup astronauts Edward White and Michael Collins entering the spacecraft 45 minutes later for the first of three mock launches. Officials said early test stages went well but the final outcome would not be known until tonight.

Holiday Toll Tops 300 in Thanksgiving Traffic Deaths
United Press International reports the autumn holiday period has produced at least 328 traffic deaths since kickoff at 6 p.m. Wednesday plus 43 fire deaths and 51 other incidents for a total toll of 431. Tragedies include a Lafay ette Ind home fire killing four children and a Keokuk Iowa armory blast raising that toll to 10. California leads with 27 traffic deaths. Texas 24. Ohio 22. Florida and New York 15 each. Michigan, Missouri, and Pennsylvania 13 each.
