Harwich November 26 The sinking justified by a sailor on a German U boat says the Lusitania carried munitions and was warned. Other crew members blamed German ruthlessness while some hope to regain American friendship. They landed in overalls after surrendering their submarines. The interview covered dozens of men. King Albert to visit Paris in December announced for December 5 departure.
A Germain newspaper report says united workers and sailors councils proclaimed a republic for northern German coast cities with Hamburg as capital while Oldenburg and Kiel canal features noted. In Stockholm on Nov 26 Spartacus adherents attempted to seize the Berlin police presidency, with several killed or wounded.
