Taylor County Bonds Defeated in Special Election

Taylor county voters rejected a $900,000 bond plan to pave primary roads No. 3 and 6 by 3,310 against to 1,481 for. Only Bedford city precinct supported the proposal, and a new vote on this form cannot occur for two years.

Bombing investigated near Davenport sparks panic at school event

Authorities arrested Howard Drenter, 30, on suspicion of bombing Andre Spies' automobile at Crisswell rural school in Lincoln township. Spies, reportedly engaged to Miss Edna Smith, the school teacher, triggered jealousy as motive. A crowd in the schoolhouse panicked, with several sustaining minor injuries during the explosion and scramble for exits.

Coolidges Attend Thanksgiving Church Service Plan

President Coolidge and Mrs. Coolidge will attend morning union services at Metropolitan Memorial Methodist Episcopal church on Thanksgiving Day and dine at the White House. They will be joined by Mr and Mrs Frank W Stearns of Boston. Their turkey weighs 24 pounds and was donated by Governor Sam Baker of Missouri.

Navy seaplanes PN-10 No. 2 diverted for an exhausted oil supply while en route from Hampton Roads to Panama, 250 miles south of Cuba. Alleged Tire Larceny Suspect Nabbed in Nnota City

Deputy Sheriff Fred Sweet arrested Nelson Ender who was wanted in Freeport Illinois for larceny of automobile tires.
