Burglars drilled a hole in the County Treasurer’s office safe in Wapello between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. but the fuse failed or they were frightened away, leaving no clue. Brakeman George Whistler of Brighton injured his arm unloading a train at Columbus Junction. Dr. Jenkins treated the wound and Whistler returned home.
