Dale Cassady, former Brighton resident, died Tuesday afternoon in Oskaloosa. He was brother to Mrs. W. E. Howell of Washington and Bonnie Cassady of Brighton and survived by his widow. The Cassadys lived in Brighton for years before moving to Oskaloosa about ten years ago. Funeral services are set for Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with burial in the same community.

Mrs. T. A. Michels wife of a former Washington attorney died Tuesday in Tipton at age 67. Funeral services set for Friday at 2 p.m. in Tipton Methodist Church with burial at Mason Cemetery. She and T. A. Michels lived in Washington from 1921 to 1955 before moving to Tipton. Born in Tipton in 1891 she was the daughter of John and Carrie Willer. Survivors include her husband and three daughters Catherine Johnson, Ruth Marie Digledy, and Betty Jane Sherrill.

Portland Maine authorities report a postal clerk stole ninety seven thousand dollars from bags in a Boston and Maine Railroad train between Boston and Portland. Robert S. Fear No Others Survived as Cargo Vessel Went Down
