Stewart Takes Stand in Perry Perjury Hearing
In Washington on November 19 1931 Robert W Stewart chairman of Standard Oil Indiana testified in his own defense as the defense began its case in a perjury charge arising from his senate public lands committee testimony. He disputed stenographic records claiming he had no recollection of certain questions and said he received Continental Trading company notes merely as a messenger. Character witnesses testified to his high standing in business circles. The court had previously denied a motion for a directed verdict.

Charlie Cutright Dies After Illness in Washington
Washington resident Charlie Cutright died this morning at 8 20 after several weeks of poor health. He was 63 and had worked as a barber, salesman, and hotel employee. He leaves a widow and daughter Marjorie in New Mexico. Interment will be in Marengo where his parents are buried. Frank Gage traveled to Chicago on a short business trip.
