Teen passenger threatens 91 aboard jetliner over Gulf coast
A 16 year old honor student fired two pistols on a National Airlines DC8 carrying 13 Gemini program officials over the Gulf coast. The weapon misfired at mission director Christopher Kraft, and the plane landed safely after Edward Haake, a Houston businessman, overpowered him. The youth, Thomas Robinson of Brownsville Texas, was arrested on federal charges and held on bond.

Woodbury remap suit seeks county supervisor reapportionment
Frank Mandicino and Anthony Boe of the Sioux City Labor Council filed in district court a petition demanding reapportionment of Woodbury County's five member board before March 1 or shift to an at large system in the 1966 general election. The suit cites the one man one vote ruling and aims to correct rural domination where four members represent about 18600 residents versus Sioux City’s 89159 residents. Also named are County Attorney Donald Linduski and the five supervisors. Wallace dies at 77 after long ALS battle in Danbury
Former Vice President Henry A. Wallace died at 11:15 a.m. in Danbury Hospital, aged 77, after a protracted fight with lateral sclerosis. He was surrounded by wife Ilo Browne and sister Mary Braggman, with three children present. Wallace, an early New Deal architect and 1948 Progressive presidential candidate, served as Secretary of Agriculture 1933–40 and as Truman's Secretary of Commerce 1945–46. He later farmed and pursued breeding hybrids at his South Salem, New York estate. Born October 7, 1888 in Adair County, Iowa, Wallace was the son of Henry C. Wallace, a former Agriculture Secretary and publisher of Wallace's Farmer. He graduated from Iowa State College in 1910 and earned a master’s in 1920, later working with the food administration during World War I.
