Stanek Wins World Corn Husking Title at Fremont
Fred Stanek of Fort Dodge Iowa won the world corn husking championship at Fremont Nebraska by husking 28.28 net bushels in 80 minutes on Joe Roberts farm to dethrone Illinois star Elmer Williams who finished near last with 21.3 bushels. Nebraska champ Joe Sudik was second with 25.36. Earl Seiler third with 25.26. Williams had set a world record of 35.8 bushels last year.
