Thomas L. Morrison, 28, of Washington, was sentenced to a year in jail for his role in the July 27 theft at Booth's Grocery in Brighton. He pleaded guilty to larceny and received 110 days credit for time served. accomplice Edward Kleinberg of Brighton was also convicted.

Three car pileup on Highway 92 injures four near Washington
Four people received minor injuries in a three car crash on Highway 92 east of Washington at 3 40 p m Wednesday. Cecilia Kay Wood of Ainsworth rear ended Pamela Schenk who was turning onto a gravel road. Schenk’s car then hit a third vehicle driven by a Fairfield resident. Damage estimated at 3800 dollars. All four injured treated and released at Washington County Hospital. Charges pending.

Tax Sales in Washington County Raise 5210 For Funds
Three tax sales conducted by the Washington County Board of Supervisors netted 5210 for the general fund. The top bids came from George R. and Jane L. Norman paying 4500 for city lots in Highland Park, with additional parcels sold along the Iowa River in Iowa Township to Mark D. Latta for 700 and a 20 by 20 foot square in Lexington to David D.
