Union Thanksgiving Service At Mennonite Church
The annual service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day at 815 East Park. Five congregations participate First Baptist Christian Church United Methodist United Presbyterian and Mennonite. The Service of Celebration features a Thanksgiving Litany special music and a message on The Attitude of Gratitude. The offering funds scholarships for persons in special education to attend Camp Reece next summer.

Economic production dips across sectors as strikes impact output
Washington reports September and October saw a 0.7 percent drop in factory, mine, and utilities output, the first decline since recovery began. City OKs 1.2M McQuay Perfex development bonds
The City Council approved 1.2 million dollars in municipal industrial development revenue bonds to expand the Perfex plant in Washington. Bonds finance a 40000 sq ft expansion. interest ranges from 4.5 to 6.3 percent, averaging 5.89 percent, with federal tax exemption.
