Justice of the Peace E. D. Rayburn fined Donald Dunkelberger $10 on each of three counts after a hearing over a highway incident near Brighton that killed Raymond Ryals. Dunkelberger was found not guilty of reckless driving but guilty of operating a trailer without lights and without a license or brakes. Body of Anamosa Youth, 17, Sought After River Drowning
Anamosa firemen and Jones county officers dragged the Wapsipinicon River north of Stone City for Edward Brundige a 17 year old Anamosa youth who drowned while fishing alone in a boat. Police say the boat capsized and he could not reach shore. It is the second Jones county drowning this year.
