Iowa forecast from United Press International calls for party cloudy and cold tonight with few snow flurries in the northeast. Saturday will see variable cloudiness and warmer temperatures with a chance of light snow in the north. Lows tonight expected 10 to 15 and highs Saturday 35 to 45.
The Apollo 12 crew of Charles Conrad Alan Bean and Richard Gordon blasted off despite a last minute thunderstorm that threatened the mission. Ground control reported electrical glitches and observers noted flashes in the sky as the Saturn V rose. The craft reached earth orbit 12 minutes after launch and began the 255 617 mile trip to the moon amid a crowd including President Nixon and Vice President Agnew.
Vice President Spiro Agnew denounces television coverage as instant analysis and hostile criticism. He faults a dozen network figures for shaping news shown to tens of millions, challenging NBC CBS and ABC to improve quality and objectivity. Field reports note dozens more wounded as North Vietnamese forces attacked one mile from Cambodia, with at least 93 attackers killed as they routed the South Vietnamese.

The three day event aims for immediate US withdrawal, ending with a mass march on Pennsylvania Avenue Saturday. Despite cold rain and 47 degree winds, about 40,000 police stood ready as Nixon sought to boost backing for disengagement and prepared to witness Apollo 12 launch in Cape Kennedy.
Members of the Washington Christian Tabernacle work on a new addition begun in October on South Iowa. The project includes an auditorium seating over 400, a lounge with fireplace, a pastors study, office, two nurseries, and bridal room. Remodeling of the existing auditorium will create reception rooms and expanded parking. The plan includes an elaborate sound system for KCNI radio broadcasts, with completion date not set.
