Three Men Die in Collision Near New London Iowa
Three men were killed and a fourth worker was critically injured in a two car crash on a straight highway west of New London Iowa last Wednesday night. Victims from Mount Pleasant are John Patterson 20 John Duggins 49 and Raymond Willey 31. Gary Hunter 21 of New London was listed in critical condition at a Mount Pleasant hospital. Sheriff Van Tuyl planned a scene study to determine crash causes. Patterson was son of A M Patterson editor of Mount Pleasant News.

Explosion Damages Corn Picker On McCoy Farm Near Columbus Junction
An explosion yesterday severely damaged a tractor and corn picker on the Kenneth McCoy farm two miles northwest of Columbus Junction. Bart Wagner, the operator, was thrown from the tractor but unhurt as the Columbus Junction fire team extinguished the blaze before it spread to the wagon full of corn. Laird Parson is the tenant on the McCoy farm.
