In Tel Aviv on November 13, government spokesman Moshe Perlman said Israel had maintained contact with at least two Arab states for some time but denied any peace talks were under way. Prime Minister Ben Gurion acknowledged discussions on peace terms with the Arabs, urging vigilance and warning against complacency. The London Telegraph cited a foreign office source claiming contacts with several Arab governments beyond two.

Mrs Raymond Peiffer and two sons Injured in Keota Crash
Mrs Raymond Peiffer and her two sons Gary and Marlin were hospitalized at Washington county hospital after a Friday afternoon automobile collision one mile north and east of Keota with a pickup driven by Florence Brinning of Brighton. Brinning and their daughter were uninjured. Mr Peiffer and another son escaped injury. Mrs Peiffer had a fractured leg while Gary had possible internal injuries and Marlin had head cuts.

Plan Wenger Rites At Wayland Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. C. C. Wenger of Wayland are set for Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Wayland Mennonite Church with Rev. Ezra Mullett and Rev. J. J. Pritchard officiating. Music by a quartet and pallbearers named. Mrs. Wenger died Friday at University Hospital, Iowa City, after a short illness. She was born March 26, 1872, in Wayland and survived by a son Allen Wenger and a daughter Mrs. OU. F. Boller, with multiple siblings and grandchildren. She was a Mennonite and active in local society.

Washington public schools join the state and nation in a CROP drive to raise funds for powdered milk and relief cereal. Five earloads of milk are planned for elementary students while junior college and high schools aim for carloads of cereal. Mrs. James Buck learns the body of her brother Sgt Keith Ingle arrived in New York City on November 10. Ingle joined the service March 3 1942 and served abroad from December 1943 taking part in D Day Normandy and fighting through France into Germany. He married Bernice Youngblood January 10 1942 and they had daughter Pamela Kay. The wife and daughter reside in Oskaloosa where burial will take place.
