M Putnam said the break-in happened after 1:30 a.m. Jack Creech, the night watchman, found the office undisturbed during his round. Manager J. M. White noted entry through north and then another window and rummaging through papers but no cash was taken. The safe was open, yet cash hidden in the room was overlooked by the burglars.
