In Ottumwa a suspect named Elliott about 19 and a companion Edwards about 18, both known for a loose lifestyle, were jailed in Brighton for carrying concealed weapons. Sheriff Tom Stodghill of Wapello County delivered Elliott to Ottumwa to answer larceny charges including stolen rings. Edwards may be released after ten days.
The Temple Quartette leads the academy lecture series opening November 25. Keenan will lecture on the Russian exile system in December or January. Burdette appears February 5. Three lectures this year cost one dollar each. Tickets from C. H. Wilson or at the academy office.
Two girls with a young gentleman took a ride and locked the house door. He took the key and fled after the drive. They could not enter and nearly froze while he rushed off, later dropping the key in relief as they rejoiced.

After a prayer service at the First Church delegates were appointed to attend the Convention of the Anti Secret Society Association at New Sharon this month. Rev Allen of the Covenanter Church W J Hamilton of the First Church and I F Samson of the Second Church were named.
The term of court is extended with Judge McCoy tied up by the Bybee guardianship case. The guardian’s final report faces objections and the proceedings are expected to be lengthy.

Rev. Stewart of the Christian church resigns and relocates his household to Bristol Iowa. The church is now without a pastor and no replacement has been secured to lead the congregation.

He plans to reside in Washington from next month, renting a home from Mrs. Abbott in southeast Washington. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Ferguson arrive from Chicago as guests of J. S. Ferguson and continue to Nebraska.
