US intercepts five Soviet ships bound for Russia from Cuba
The Defense Department says five Soviet vessels were stopped, three carrying ballistic missiles back to the Soviet Union. Interceptions occurred from Thursday afternoon to today with Navy destroyers and helicopters. Some Soviet technicians reportedly left Cuba aboard the ships. Four more freighters are to be examined.
