Youth Killed in Car Crash Near Brighton
John Rettler an 18 year old from the Talleyrand community died Friday night when the car carrying him left the highway near the Honey Creek bridge west of Brighton. The driver Robert L. Carris 18 of Harpers was not seriously hurt after the vehicle overturned 500 feet into a ditch. Davis of Richland who witnessed the incident said Carris was passing at about 70 mph when the crash occurred. Rettler lived with his aunt Mrs. Leo Keifer and worked on farms in Talleyrand.
