Directors named reports heard at Chamber of Commerce dinner

A large Washington crowd attended the annual Chamber of Commerce dinner to hear reports on the year’s activities and the election of directors. John Myers and Hubert Lehrer spoke as new and continuing leaders while Frank Miles urged optimism and local pride.

Kalona Methodist Church to Mark 75th Anniversary

Kalona Iowa observes the 75th anniversary of the Kalona Methodist Church with a 10:30 morning service led by Dr. Fred E. Miller and a 2 p.m dedication service led by Dr. Paul M. Hann. The church began in 1887 with 40 charter members and now has about 260 members under Rev. E. Edward Philgreen.

Wagenknecht Returned to Hospital After Auto Crash

Joe Wagenknecht of Ainsworth is back at University Hospital in Iowa City for observation and possible ear surgery after a serious auto crash north of Iowa City in August. His skull fracture and facial laceration are listed among injuries. Roy Miller of Ainsworth was also hurt, while driver Jack W. Klemme of Iowa City died. Local Students To Attend DECA Meeting

The Deca Club delegate assembly will be held Saturday November 3 at the Hotel Roosevelt in Cedar Rapids.
