Washington man Milo Orris reported to city police that during the night a red and black blanket a pillow a chain of keys rifle shells and a flashlight were stolen from his auto parked near his home Several other cars in the area were gone through but no further reports were filed Orris said the items were insured and he hopes to recover the keys.

Fred E. Byers age 81 died at 3 10 am today November 1 1962 after six weeks illness. He lived at 426 South Seventh Avenue and farmed until retiring in 1945. Survived by wife Maria Hamilton two daughters and three sons plus ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral Saturday at Jones Funeral Home with Elm Grove Cemetery burial. Born February 3 1881 in Washington County he was a longtime Cedar Township resident and Methodist. He also leaves three sisters and other relatives. two brothers and two sisters had preceded him in death.
