Attorneys from both sides report an out of court settlement over five dollars in old style paper money found in a city dump last December. Tragedy in Curlew As Oil Truck Kills Boy
Ne day Gary Christiansen seven year old son of Roy and Mrs. Christiansen of Curlew died when he fell from an oil truck driven by his uncle Archie Seagren near Mallard. Coroner R J Brink ruled head injuries and no inquest will be held. Gary survived by his parents and a brother LeRoy.

Waterloo Boy Tricked by Chauffeur's License
Police hunt operator of a chauffeur license racket who swindled 17 year old Allen Runyan and his mother from Waterloo. The man approached the R. F Runyan home offering a vacation job driving a milk truck and explained a chauffeur license cost five dollars. Mrs Runyan gave six dollars and Allen left with the stranger for the Black Hawk county courthouse and disappeared en route after being asked to run an errand.

Driver on Two Wheels Arrested for Reckless Driving
Dan Kelly of Fort Dodge was arrested by Patrolman George Haag for allegedly driving around a corner on two wheels while rushing to a filling station. He pleaded guilty before Municipal Judge C Edwin Moore and paid a 25 dollar fine.

Berlin May 80 German air force officials announced Lance Corporal Max Schmeling the former heavyweight champion and parachutist in Crete is not killed but slightly ill in a Luftwaffe hospital and expects to join as a fighter pilot. He was among the first parachutists in Crete but contracted fever and was moved to the hospital.
