Crawfordsville Man Dies After Long Illness
John J. Anwyl, 76, died today at five A.M. at the Crawfordsville home of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Cherryhommes. He had been confined to a chair for 14 years after injuries from a hit and run on March 5, 1933. Survived by daughter Mrs. Thomas Harden and three grandsons, he was born October 11, 1870, and was a longtime resident of the Welsnam community. Funeral services are planned for 2:20 P.M. Wednesday May 28, at the Federated Presbyterian church in Crawfordsville with burial in Crawfordsville Cemetery.

Mrs Lear, Riverside matron 93 dies after strokes
Riverside May 28 Mrs Filen Lear aged 93 died Saturday at Mercy hospital Iowa City after a series of strokes the first three years ago and the last within two months. Born Filen Vesey April 9 1854 she lived her entire life in Riverside and was one of eight children. She married Alphonse Lear in 1884 and celebrated their golden anniversary two and a half years ago. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9 am at St Marys church Riverside with Rev Thomas Wolfe officiating burial at Mt Olivet Cemetery.

Hannah Isabelle Peckham 93 widow of John W. Peckham died at 10 45 Sunday. Born July 6 1843 in Missouri she lived in Washington county most of 44 years. She leaves one daughter, 15 grandchildren 30 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery with funeral at L A Jones funeral home conducted by Rev T C Polk. Her husband died July 26 1900 and two sons and two daughters are deceased.

Former Resident Killed in Wyoming Mine Laborer Floyd Frakes
Floyd Frakes, 23, of Rock Springs Wyoming, was killed Saturday afternoon at a mine where he worked. His wife and children arrived in Washington to visit relatives.
