Colorful Colorado bandits kill two bankers in Lamar robbery
Five bandits robbed the Farmers and Merchants Bank at Lamar Colorado taking all cash as workers stood with hands up. The suspects, possibly linked to a Lamar heist last week, were pursued by nationwide forces including planes and hundreds of volunteers in Colorado Nebraska Oklahoma and New Mexico. The case also involved a doctor’s abduction and the murder of two bank officials in Lamar.

A class of twenty-two graduates from Keota high school were honored in a Thursday evening ceremony in the high school auditorium. Miss Anna Antes led the processional, Rev. Virgil Nalley gave the invocation, and music came from the junior and girls glee clubs and the high school chorus. Dr. James E. Coons of Iowa Wesleyan College delivered the commencement address titled Making a Life While Making a Living. Diplomas were presented by board of education president T. A. Morris. The class, which had two more boys than girls, included top honors Francine Lacey and Harriet Morris, with the class motto We Can We Will.
