A Des Moines prowler entered three residences and escaped with $25 and clothing after brutalizing 24 year old Helen Brandt who awoke to a man peering at her in bed.
Sioux City report says Mrs. Clarence Price declines to claim her husband’s body after his life sentence for murdering his grandniece Edith Kuhl, 13, of Glenwood, due to insufficient funds while she awaits funds from the Fort Madison penitentiary death.
Des Moines reports the state bureau of investigation asking officers to watch for strange loot from a burglary at a Vinton dentist office. The haul includes two one-inch square flat pieces, two funnel shaped gold pieces weighing six penny weights each, four flat gold solder pieces, over 20 gold inlays and crowns, and $40 in currency.
Des Moines report says Mrs George KF O’Neal knew an antidote for poison and found her 18 month old Kenneth alive after he ingested powdered poison used for garden roots. Unable to obtain a doctor quickly she fed milk to the child until an ambulance arrived.
Prof C C Wylie head of the astronomy department at the State University of Town predicts increasing solar activity over the next years could moderate a two degree drop in average temperature. He says this may reduce Iowa corn yields by about four bushels per acre until sun spots fade.

Relatives in Washington report the death of Dr J M Cadwallader, occurred at Sheffield Town Saturday night. Funeral services will be held there Tuesday at ten in the morning, burial at Woodlawn Cemetery here at four in the afternoon with a brief service at the grave. He was husband to Leta Lins, sister to Mrs Mary Scranton and Mrs Vina Manassier of Washington.
Detroit May 25 INS Prosecutor Duman C. McCrea charged 25 members of the secret Black Legion with the murder of WPA worker Charles A. Poole. Warrants issued against 13 of 14 men named and 12 John Does. One in custody James Roy Loratce not named in warrants. Arraignments set for this afternoon as authorities probe the clan like military society.
For several days Washington was surrounded by threatening skies with little rain. Cloud cover limited precipitation, but a light shower did occur Saturday evening. The light rain helped soften the ground crust formed by extended dry weather and offered some encouragement to crop growth.

Mrs Adan Fincher Dittmer dies at 4 50 Sunday afternoon in Washington Iowa after a life spanning Germany and the United States. Born July 15 1856 in Germany she married Henry C Dittmer in Chicago in 1877. Survived by nine children Chris H Henry C George Frank L Marie John Anna Gordon Emma Scott and one sister Miss Barbara Fischer. Funeral services Tuesday at 2 30 at L A Jones funeral home with burial Woodlawn cemetery. burial under charge of Dr B F Lehbwarts of the Methodist church.

Mounted guards discovered the bodies of a man named Louis Legge and his wife near Rancho de la Crulla about 30 miles south of Ensenada Mexico. Both were found with revolvers in their hands and the couple had lived at a nearby ranch house.
