Heat Wave To Hit Mississippi Valley With 90 Degrees
Chicago, May 24. A heat wave that pushed Pierre South Dakota to 102 degrees yesterday will likely reach the Mississippi Valley tomorrow with at least 90 degrees. Meteorologist H. J. Cox announced the forecast this morning. The heat may persist through the week as crops in the upper valley crave warmth.

Ainsworth Boys Hurt in Auto Crash
A serious accident near Ainsworth last night injured Wm. McFaland and cousin Alington after their car hit freshly worked ground near the Palmer home. The vehicle overturned, both boys needed stitches, and three tires were missing from the wreck when retrieved this morning.

Wallace Home Damaged by Sunday Fire
The Wallace home on East Second Street suffered serious damage when a roof fire started from a spark on Sunday morning. Firemen battled the blaze with two water streams, destroying the roof and badly damaging the upper part while keeping household goods intact. Mr and Mrs H W Sanger of five miles southeast of town lost their house to a fire on Saturday. They are living in a Wood house and expect a new home soon with only temporary shelter from an outbuilding. The blaze started from a chimney spark and outpaced their limited firefighting.
