John P. Ryan proprietor of the Ideal bakery in Washington died this morning at Washington county hospital after two weeks illness. Born March 17 1870 in Fort Dodge he married Mary Kennedy in 1896 and leaves ten children. May 22 1872 marked the county s deadliest tornado. Five people died and twenty five were seriously hurt as the storm tore through Jackson township north of Washington.
